City and Beyond

The community outside the campus contributes to the graduate school experience. Madison (Population: (208,054 [2000]) is Wisconsin’s state capital. Madison is small enough to navigate easily, but with cultural resources and amenities that rival those of cities many times its size. Madison is a great place to learn, live and recreate and students are a vital part of Madison. Madison has been recognized in many national surveys and magazines for its high quality of life. Like the university, the city is on everyone’s “best of” lists.

OK, what about the weather? Wisconsin has four seasons, but there is no reason to fear winter weather. Winter just means we have more cold-weather sports and games to enjoy.
